Bullying involves three people:
The Bully:
Bullying is something someone does more than just one time, like saying mean things or doing mean things towards another person or a group of people. It could be shoving, name-calling, stealing your lunch or even talking about you behind your back. It is very hurtful. Being a bully is something that is learned.
A Bully:
- Is a coward
- Is jealous or envious of you or something you have.
- Only acts as a bully when in a group and has an audience
- Only picks on vulnerable people that appear to have low self-esteem
- Doesn’t feel bad for the victim
- Only cares about themself
The Victim
Being the victim can be embarrassing and scary.
Here a few things to remember:
The Bystander
Bystanders are very important. If you were to walk away when you see someone being bullied, chances are it would stop within 10 seconds. It is uncomfortable and embarrassing when someone is being bullied and especially when people are watching. Don’t encourage the bully by giving them an audience; band together and encourage everyone to walk away.
